AI Sales Prompts

8 original prompts for the sales conversations that repeat every week — outreach, objections, follow-ups, proposals. Copy, fill in the brackets, and use in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

Cold Outreach Opener

Use case: Writing a first-touch message that does not read like a template.
Write a cold outreach message to [role/title] at companies in [industry]. Our product helps them [specific outcome]. Open with something specific to their likely situation, not a generic compliment. Keep it under 60 words, end with a low-friction ask (not "book a call" — something easier to say yes to).
Tip: Replace the generic ask with something like "worth a quick reply if this is relevant?" — lower-friction asks get more responses.

Objection Handling Script

Use case: Preparing responses to the objection you hear most often.
A prospect just said: [paste the objection, e.g. "it is too expensive" or "we already use a competitor"]. Write 3 different ways to respond: one that reframes the objection, one that asks a clarifying question back, and one that provides social proof. Keep each under 3 sentences and avoid sounding defensive.
Tip: Practice these out loud — scripted responses that sound natural in speech often need shorter sentences than what reads well on paper.

Follow-Up After No Response

Use case: Writing a follow-up that adds value instead of just "just checking in."
I sent this message and got no response: [paste original message]. Write a follow-up that does not repeat the same pitch — instead, add one new piece of value (a relevant insight, a quick question, or a useful resource) and make it easy to ignore without guilt.
Tip: Never send more than 3 follow-ups without a genuinely new angle each time — repetition reads as desperation.

Discovery Call Question List

Use case: Preparing sharp questions instead of a generic discovery checklist.
I have a discovery call with a prospect in [industry] who is evaluating [type of solution]. Write 8 discovery questions that uncover their actual pain, current workaround, budget signal, and decision process — avoid generic questions like "what are your goals."
Tip: Ask the budget and decision-process questions later in the call, once trust is established, not first.

Proposal Summary Writer

Use case: Turning call notes into a clear proposal summary quickly.
Here are my notes from a sales call: [paste rough notes]. Write a 150-word proposal summary covering: the problem they described, the solution we discussed, and the expected outcome. Write it in their language, not ours — avoid jargon they did not use themselves.
Tip: Send this within 24 hours of the call — proposal speed correlates strongly with close rate.

LinkedIn Connection Message

Use case: Writing a connection request that gets accepted and starts a real conversation.
Write a LinkedIn connection request to [role/title] at a company that [relevant context, e.g. just raised funding, posted about a specific challenge]. Reference the specific context naturally, keep it under 300 characters, and do not pitch anything in the request itself.
Tip: Never pitch in the connection request — the goal is only to get accepted, save the pitch for after.

Win-Back Email for Lost Deals

Use case: Reopening a conversation with a prospect who went cold or chose a competitor.
A deal went cold [timeframe] ago after [brief context, e.g. they went with a competitor / budget got cut]. Write a win-back email that acknowledges time has passed, mentions one relevant update (new feature, case study, or pricing change), and reopens the door without pressure.
Tip: Time win-back emails to a real trigger (a new feature launch, a relevant case study) rather than sending them on a fixed schedule.

Upsell / Cross-sell Pitch

Use case: Introducing an additional product or tier to an existing customer.
Our existing customer currently uses [current product/plan] and has been a customer for [timeframe]. We want to introduce them to [upsell/cross-sell offer]. Write a short pitch that connects the upsell to a result they are already getting, not a generic feature list.
Tip: Reference a specific result or usage pattern from their account if you have it — generic upsell pitches convert far worse than personalized ones.
