Designed for young learners, Mimi turns everyday questions into bite-sized lessons. Kids talk to Mimi the way they'd talk to a friend — asking about animals, festivals, or new words — and get simple, encouraging answers back in real time, delivered through an animated character that keeps them engaged. The experience runs seamlessly across laptop, tablet, and mobile.
Voice-first products for children carry a different design bar than voice assistants built for adults. A child's questions rarely arrive well-formed — they trail off, restart mid-thought, or jump topics — so the conversational layer has to stay patient and encouraging rather than treating an unclear question as an error to correct. The animated avatar isn't just a visual flourish either: for a pre-reading child, a face that reacts, listens, and responds does more to hold attention than any amount of on-screen text ever could.
On the technical side, the app pairs a Python and Django REST Framework backend with a React front end — a split that keeps the conversational logic (where the actual product value lives) cleanly separated from the interface kids interact with, so either side can evolve independently as the product grows.
